Jane Barclay was the winner of the 1998 Writers’ Union of Canada Writing for Children Competition. Her publications include How Cold Was It? and Going On a Journey to the Sea. Her books have been shortlisted for both the Blue Spruce and the Mr. Christie Book Awards. Her most recent publication, Proud as a Peacock, Brave as a Lion was a finalist in the Quebec Writers’ Federation Prize for Children’s and Young Adult Literature and winner of the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz AwardJane also enjoys writing for adults and her essays have been published in The Gazette and the National Post.
